Canon Singapore plants new regional base at Alexandra Technopark

The 75,003-square-foot office includes 22 meeting rooms and 12 work pods.

Canon Singapore Pte. Ltd. has opened a 75,003-square-foot regional headquarters at Alexandra Technopark, bringing employees, customer service, and product demonstrations onto one floor.

"We wanted a new workspace that reflects the breadth of Canon today whilst creating an environment where our people, customers, and partners can come together easily and support the next chapter of our growth," Canon Singapore President and CEO Toshiyuki Ishii said in an emailed reply to questions.

The headquarters occupies the entire sixth floor of Block A at Alexandra Technopark. Canon Singapore previously operated from 1 Fusionopolis Place, Galaxis.

The office houses Canon Singapore's regional team, Singapore business operations, corporate support functions, and commercial teams.

Its Canon Experience Hub combines reception, customer service, and a showroom displaying cameras, lenses, business equipment, and document scanners.

Canon also has a dedicated area demonstrating its semiconductor manufacturing technology. Interactive displays and the company's MREAL mixed-reality technology show visitors how lithography equipment exposes circuit patterns onto wafers.

The Production Printing Excellence Centre lets invited customers test Canon's commercial and industrial printing equipment.

Canon designed the office around an open-plan layout, placing employees on one floor without partitions. The space has 22 meeting rooms and 12 work pods, including four meeting rooms with glass that can be switched between transparent and frosted settings.

Other office technology includes a central room booking system, facial recognition, and card access.

The headquarters also includes the Kyosei Café, which serves as a space for daily meals and can be combined with an adjoining multipurpose hall for events.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
