Q&M Dental Group inaugurates $2mln new dental centre

Centre at The Centrepoint houses 16 treatment rooms, equivalent to size of 8 standard dental clinics.

Mainboard-listed Q&M Dental Group (Singapore) Limited (“Q&M Dental Group” or the “Group”),the largest provider of private dental health care services in Singapore, has commenced operations of Q& M Dental Centre (Orchard) in The Centrepoint, a very popular shopping destination located prominently at Orchard Road, according to a Q&M Dental Group report.

The opening of the new dental centre comes just 10 months after the launch of the Group’s first dental centre in City Square Mall on 16 December 2009. Both dental centres are strategically located in highly accessible areas in central Singapore. With these dental centres in place, the Group aims to capture a larger share of the fast expanding dental tourism market and growing demand for higher-end specialist dental treatments.

Set up at a cost of $2 million, Q & M Dental Centre (Orchard) occupies a total floor area of 4,600 square feet at the third level of The Centrepoint and houses 16 treatment rooms, which is equivalent to the size of about 8 standard dental clinics. For the initial period, the Group intends to utilise around eight rooms while progressively building the patient base of Q&M Dental Centre (Orchard).

For the convenience of its patients, the dental centre offers multi-disciplinary dental health care services and is equipped with the latest dental technology such as the Galileos Cone Beam 3D Radiography, CEREC CADCAM and dental laser.

Dr Ng Chin Siau, CEO of Q&M Dental Group said,“We see good prospects for Q&M Dental Centre (Orchard) as it is well-situated in an established mall in Singapore’s prime shopping belt. We expect the new dental centre to enhance awareness of the ‘Q&M (全民)’ brand and enable us to expand our pool of patients in the dental tourism market. At the same time, Q&M Dental Centre (Orchard) will also enable us to provide quality dental health care services to local residents in the vicinity.

This new dental centre is in line with the Group’s plans to seek suitable locations in Singapore to replicate the successful model of our flagship Q&M Dental Centre at City Square Mall, which has been performing above our expectations. Our dental centre model offers patients reduced waiting times, ready access to our pool of specialists and more advanced dental procedures and solutions to address their dental health care needs.”

The more sophisticated procedures that are offered at the Group’s dental centres at The Centrepoint and City Square Mall include the ‘one-day crown’ which enables ceramic teeth restoration to be completed within a single visit; dental laser treatment for sensitive teeth, gum disease and soft-tissue surgery; as well as dental implantology with advanced diagnostic tools using the new Cone Beam radiography that provides the highest resolution with lowest radiation dose.

In addition to Q&M Dental Centre (Orchard), the Group has set up two new clinics in Serangoon Garden and Novena Square this year, with plans to open another clinic in “NEX” shopping mall in Serangoon Central before the year-end.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
