WDA sets up new CET centre to boost tourism sector

The integrated CET Centre for Tourism aims to deliver 2,000 training places annually for the tourism workforce in Singapore.

According to the Ministry of Manpower, this latest collaboration with William Angliss Institute aims to raise the skills level of Singapore's workforce.

Tourism arrivals and receipts in Singapore have reached their highest in ten years. Singapore is also seeing a sharp increase in tourism investments.

The Centre will inject new ideas and concepts in training methodology and delivery approaches.

Besides offering new cross-sectoral courses in areas such as Resort Management and Water Recreation, the Centre will also provide new progression pathways for tourism professionals and workers to upgrade themselves. It will offer Workforce Skills Qualification training courses for different tourism subsectors across all levels from Certificate to Diploma. Professionals, Managers and Executives in the sector will benefit from new offerings such as Professional Development Courses and Specialist Diploma programmes.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
