EduSpaze rolls out virtual demo for new round of accelerator program

Seven early stage startups were chosen out of 200.

Singapore-based educational technology (edutech) accelerator EduSpaze will be having a virtual demo for the second set of accelerator programs for seven early stage edutech startups on 5 May.

The program aims to help edtech startups that serve the education sector in Singapore and Southeast Asia by supporting them with $500k funding, providing a unique accelerator programme, mentor support, and an environment for pilot project implementations in the region.

The EduSpaze team will work with the founders over the course of the 100-day programme to accelerate their progress in market fit, client discovery, product development, scalability, revenue generation, and strategies to attract follow-on capital investment.

The seven startups were chosen from over 200 applicants across 30 countries slotted under the categories of K-12, higher education, and corporate learning. The companies originated from Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Philippines

Last year, EduSpaze said that it had to suspend the first cohort of startups halfway through the programme because of the pandemic. They quickly resumed under a virtual program; all the startups raised additional funding, and seven out of eight teams were successful in product testing, selling, and scaling across Southeast Asia.

EduSpaze said it has decided to roll out a fully virtual accelerator programme for the second cohort because of the success of last year.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
