Naluri grants mental health support to Malaysia Aviation Group employees

Over 13,000 employees will receive support.

Malaysia-based digital therapeutics company Naluri has announced a partnership with Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) to provide their employees with psychological health support amidst the pandemic, the company confirmed in a press release.

With this partnership, Naluri is slated to offer all MAG employees therapeutic care that combines behaviour science, data science, and digital design.

Earlier this year, MAG offered its employees the option of taking three months of unpaid leave or five days of unpaid leave per month for a period of three months beginning in April. These measures were undertaken to prevent the possibility of employee layoffs to cut costs. By deploying a digital therapeutics programme, MAG claims to buffer the impact of uncertainty and anxiety surrounding COVID-19 on their employees so as to protect their mental well-being.

Commenting on the importance of their programme, the CEO and co-founder of Naluri, Azran Osman Rani said, “Our internal data and multiple studies by the Ministry of Health show that 30 - 50% of working adults experience mental health pressures. While traditional EAP models are there to help, unfortunately, with these programs only 2% - 4% of the employees are reaching out for help. Clearly, we need a more comprehensive health solution to support our workforce, especially during these challenging times.”

Prior to the COVID-19 crisis, Malaysia estimated employee mental health issue to cost roughly $3.49b which is 1% of the country’s GDP, the press release added.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
