COTD: 8 in 10 employers plan salary hikes of 3% or more in 2025

Majority plan to increase salaries by 3%-5%.

Eight in 10 employers in Singapore plan to increase salaries by 3% or more in 2025, according to Manpower Group's 2024/2025 Singapore Salary and Bonus Plans report.

The report found that the majority (56%) of employers planning salary increases aim to raise them by 3% to 5%.

However, this percentage dipped slightly compared to last year (56% vs. 57%).

Medium-sized companies, those with 50-249 employees, were the most likely (62%) to implement a 3%-5% salary increase, followed by micro-sized companies (60%).

Meanwhile, the proportion of employers planning to raise salaries by 5% to 7% increased from 19% to 20%, and those planning increases of 7% or more rose from 3% to 6%.

Very large companies with 1,000-4,999 employees were the most likely to raise salaries by 7% or more, at 10%.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
