S'pore employers to prioritise tech hiring, revenue growth in 2025: report

Employers plan to increase headcounts and allocate larger budgets for tech roles.

For 2025, 49% of Singapore employers plan to increase their headcount whilst 40% aim to maintain their current workforce, Randstad Singapore reported.

According to Randstad, revenue generation is a key priority for businesses, with 45% of employers expecting the highest hiring activity in sales and business development.

Employers also plan to focus on technology with 23% prioritising tech talent acquisition, followed by planning to invest in digital transformation and AI professionals (13%).

Meanwhile, employers also cite significant recruitment challenges such as a shortage of candidates with required skills (66%) and intense market competition for talent (38%).

In response, 38% of organisations plan to increase their budgets for technical roles, whilst 30% will focus on internal promotions. When it comes to salary increments,  43% of companies project average increases of 3% to 5%.

“As employers grapple with talent scarcity, we're witnessing greater demand for professionals skilled in AI, data analytics, and digital infrastructure, alongside a strong focus on revenue generation and business development capabilities,” David Blasco, country director at Randstad Singapore said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
