Three in five Singaporeans willing to undergo reskilling for new job roles

Older Singaporeans are the most willing to undergo retraining.

Three in five Singaporeans are willing to retrain for new jobs according to a study by JobStreet.

The findings revealed that out of the 62% of respondents willing to retrain under any case, the most willing were from the public sector with 69%. They are followed by 68% from travel and tourism, 66% from insurance, and 64% from media industries.

Unlike other countries, Singaporeans' willingness to undergo retraining goes up with age. Those aged 61 and above are the most willing to retrain in any case with 67% saying they are willing to undergo reskilling.

The study surveyed 209,000 participants across 190 countries with 6,280 respondents from Singapore.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
