Manulife Investment Management Singapore names new CEO

The company promoted one of its executives, Hui-Jian Koh, for the position.

Manulife Investment Management Singapore promoted Hui-Jian Koh as its new CEO, who will also retain her post as head of retail distribution and partnerships in Southeast Asia.

Hui-Jian joined the investment firm in 2019 where she led sustainable business growth and built positive revenue momentum by coordinating with the Singapore-based and regional functional teams.

As the new CEO, Hui-Jian will be responsible for developing and implementing Manulife Investment Management Singapore’s corporate strategy and will manage the company’s overall wealth and asset management business in the Singapore market.

She will still work with strategic distribution partners in Southeast Asia to offer wealth management solutions to meet clients’ financial needs.

Before serving at Manulife, she took the helm of product at an insurance firm, Prudential, where she led the development of protection, endowment, investment-linked and medical and group products. She also served as head of retail distribution at Eastspring Investments.

Manulife said Hui-Jian’s appointment has already received regulatory approval.

For her part, Hui-Jian said she seeks to “sharpen” the income-oriented focus of Manulife to further provide investment solutions to investors in the Lion City and other markets in Southeast Asia.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
