HSBC launches HSBC Access in Singapore for UHNW and family offices

It offers investment opportunities to high-growth innovation companies, amongst others.

HSBC Private Bank has launched HSBC Access in Singapore, granting ultra-high net worth (UHNW) and family office client's access to institutional grade solutions and investment opportunities.

Singapore is the second market to get HSBC Access, following Hong Kong.

Eligible clients are offered investment opportunities to high-growth innovation companies, the bank said in a statement on 15 September.

Clients are also offered specialist insights and intelligence from across the bank’s corporate, trade, and innovation banking businesses.

HSBC Access will also facilitate curated introductions to individuals and businesses, such as founders of technology start-ups.

Investment opportunities include venture capital funds, private market and direct investment opportunities. These were previously available only to institutional clients, HSBC said.

Some of these opportunities are sourced from HSBC's Corporate and Institutional Banking and Innovation Banking businesses, the bank said.

HSBC said that new private bank relationships from Corporate and Institutional Banking referrals increased 50% year-on-year in the first half of 2026.

Close to two thirds of HSBC’s private bank clients in Singapore are entrepreneurs, and the wealth they have created is now moving to a generation that thinks about investing differently, said Tommy Leung, head of private bank, South Asia, HSBC.

Singapore has over 4,500 technology start-ups, 500 venture capital firms, and 220 incubators, venture builders, and accelerators; as well as its position as a leading family office hub in Asia, with over 2,000 single family offices awarded tax incentives by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as of 2025.

“HSBC Access gives them a direct route into private investment opportunities sourced from across our corporate and innovation banking network, alongside the wealth planning and succession advice that turns business success into a lasting legacy,” Leung said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
