Over 2.4m Singaporeans to get up to $600 COL payout in September

Payments start on 9 September for eligible adults owning no more than one property.

More than 2.4 million Singaporeans will receive between $400 and $600 in cash under the Enhanced Budget 2026 Cost-of-Living (COL) Special Payment in September, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced.

Eligible recipients must be aged 21 or older in 2026, own no more than one property, and have an assessable income of up to $100,000 for the Year of Assessment 2025.

The amount received will also take into account the annual value of the recipient’s place of residence, with more support directed to lower-income households, the MOF added.

The payout builds on the $200 to $400 COL Special Payment announced at Budget 2026, which the government subsequently enhanced on 7 April.

Payments will be credited automatically from 9 September.

Beneficiaries will be notified by SMS before and after the payment is credited, whilst those without a mobile number registered with Singpass will receive a letter at the address listed on their Singapore Identity Card.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
