Sembcorp unit bags 10-year power and water purchase deal

The agreement will commence from April 2027.

Sembcorp Industries, through its subsidiary Sembcorp Salalah Power & Water Company SAOG (SSPWC), has been awarded a new 10-year power and water purchase agreement (PWPA).

In a bourse filing, Sembcorp said the agreement was secured from Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (Nama PWP). It will commence from 4 April 2027, following the expiry of the current 15-year PWPA on 3 April 2027.

Under the new PWPA, the contracted capacity of the Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant is 465 megawatt of power per hour and 15 million imperial gallons of water per day. The plant, which is developed, owned and operated by SSPWC, comprises a gas-fired combined cycle power plant and a reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant.

Sembcorp has a portfolio of over 1.0 gigawatt of energy assets in Oman, comprising gas and renewables.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
