Singapore inks intellectual property deal with Russia

This will allow Russian enterprises to explore IP growth markets in Asia.

Russian enterprises will now use Singapore as a base to access Asian growth markets as the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore International (IPOS-I) and Russian venture capital fund and accelerator Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) inked a memorandum of understanding.

This allows such enterprises to have access to strategic IP management consultancy services, patent search and analytics, training programmes and workshops. IIDF will also have Singapore enterprises to enter the Russian market.

“Russian enterprises will find Singapore to be an ideal location to anchor and leverage on their IP and intangible assets to access Asia’s growth markets,” Daren Tang, chairman of IPOS-I, said.

“Our partnership with IIDF underscores Singapore’s role as a hub for the global flow of innovation and ideas, and the growing interest in Russia as a market and a source of deep technology,” he added.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
