COTD: Real estate investment sales fall 6.8% QoQ

This was primarily due to fewer private residential sites awarded under the GLS Programme.

Real estate investment sales fell 6.8% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to $5.47b during the second quarter of the year (Q2 2025), according to a Savills report.

The report said it was primarily due to fewer private residential sites awarded under the  Government Land Sales Programme.

Despite a sharp 50.5% QoQ drop in transaction value, the residential sector was the largest contributor, accounting for 34.4% of the quarter’s total.

The hospitality sector recorded two serviced residence transactions totalling $380m, a 14.2% QoQ.

Meanwhile, a lack of block transactions dragged the commercial sector down to $394.6m, a sharp decline from the last quarter’s $1.51b.

“Uncertainty levels for businesses around the world are still high, and each response from the US could maintain this,” Savills said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
