Samudera’s H1 earnings sink 68.3% YoY to $28.2m

Revenue also dropped 27.1% YoY to $299.6m amidst container segment decline.

Samudera Shipping Line H1 2024 profit declined 68.3% year-on-year (YoY) to $28.2m (US$20.9m).

Container volume fell 2.4% YoY to 879,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU).

On the flip side, bulk and tanker revenue rose 63.6% YoY to $17.0m (US$12.7m), reflecting a larger fleet following the addition of two gas carriers.

In addition, logistics storage capacity rose 13.1% YoY to 148,500 pallet positions, and volume handled surged 71.5% YoY to 971,100 pallet equivalents, driven primarily by new customers.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
