Yangzijiang Financial H1 profit from continuing ops falls to $38.3m

Overall earnings fell 72% during the period.

Yangzijiang Financial Holding’s net profit from continuing operations declined 29% to $38.3m in the first half (H1), from $53.9m a year earlier.

Overall net profit attributable to shareholders fell 72% from $137.7m in H1 2025, when the results still included the group’s maritime investments business, which was subsequently spun off and separately listed as Yangzijiang Maritime Development in November 2025.

The maritime business contributed $89.6m in profit in H1 2025 and has since been classified as a discontinued operation.

Total income from continuing operations decreased 31% to $35.5m from $51.5m, mainly due to lower interest income.

Interest income fell 40% to $31.2m from $52.2m as the average balance of debt investments in China declined amid continued capital recovery from the group’s legacy portfolio.

The decline was partly offset by a $2.7m net fair-value gain on financial assets and liabilities, compared with a $1.4m loss a year earlier.

Profit before tax from continuing operations declined 33% to $50.4m from $74.8m, whilst income tax expenses fell 42% to $12.1m.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
