The Singapore Exchange (SGX) reported a 42% month-on-month (MoM) increase in securities market turnover value to $29.6b in February, driven by heightened trading activity.

The securities daily average value (SDAV) also rose 42% m-o-m to $1.5b, marking the highest level since May 2022.

In the derivatives segment, traded volume climbed 17% year-on-year (YoY) to 25.6 million contracts, whilst derivatives daily average volume (DAV) increased 8% YoY to 1.4 million contracts.

Meanwhile, foreign exchange (FX) futures trading hit record highs as concerns over U.S. trade tariffs fuelled volatility across Asia-Pacific currencies. SGX FX total futures traded volume surged 72% YoY in February to 6.1 million contracts, an all-time high.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
