Chamber Music Residency

Led by our international Artists-in-Residence, our intensive Chamber Music Residencies taking place in January and June each year and lasting two weeks each are designed to offer the highest level of learning and developmental opportunities for our Homegrown Series musicians and Young Musicians to build towards a performing career as international level classical chamber musicians.

Through our focused efforts in providing quality training and professional development post-graduation for our Homegrown Series musicians, as well as proper and strong compensation in accordance with each individual’s level of craftsmanship, CMAS will be able to lead musicians in elevating their level of craftsmanship and owning a sustainable career. In turn, they will develop the ability to stand as strong ambassadors and advocates for music, becoming key contributors to a sustainable music and arts ecosystem in Singapore.

By levelling up the craftsmanship in Singapore’s classical music industry through our intensive Chamber Music Residencies, CMAS hopes to see an organic and natural development of our audiences, leading to a growth of our present creative economy as well as the cultivation of our future creative economy. Encouraging the creative economy creates the possibility of increasing compensation for our homegrown musicians according to their levels of craftsmanship — allowing them to earn the bandwidth and time needed for the continued improvement of their craft thus creating a positive upward cycle.
