Dr. Tan Shoun’s practice is centred on injectables, including dermal fillers, biostimulators, and botulinum toxins, alongside laser and energy-based skin lifting and firming treatments. He works through a patient’s concerns and expectations to formulate a treatment plan, including cost considerations and alternative options. He is currently part of the Allergan Trainer development pathway, continuing his training in injectable techniques.
Dr. Shoun has six years of medical aesthetics experience under his belt and as the Medical Director at his previous aesthetic practice, he was responsible for patient care, doctor training, and ensuring the clinics’ compliance with Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) clinical and aesthetic medicine regulatory standards. He also designs treatment protocols for procedures involving botulinum toxins, fillers, high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), radiofrequency (RF), and laser devices to deliver optimal outcome for his patients.
Dr. Shoun holds a MBBS from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM) with the College of Family Physicians Singapore. He is also a member of the Society of Aesthetic Medicine (Singapore) and holds a Basic Obesity Management Accreditation from the Singapore Association for the Study of Obesity (SASO). He also holds certifications in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
He regularly attends training workshops on injectable and device-based techniques, with recent sessions covering biostimulators, skin boosters, and filler technique, led by practitioners in Singapore, Taiwan, and Korea.
Dr. Shoun has co-authored research published in peer-reviewed journals including Annals of Plastic Surgery, Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, and the American Journal of Ophthalmology.
