Mark Lee Chambers Law Corporation (“ML Chambers”) finds itself in Shanghai, China!
Our firm was invited to the annual “Chinese Enterprise Globalisation & Global Professional Services International Conference” held in Shanghai, Qiantan (“CEGPS Shanghai 2026”).
CEGPS Shanghai 2026 is an annual international conference that brings together subject matter specialists from a wide range of industries across various jurisdictions for a week-long discourse on foreign investment, offshoring of operations and supply chain resilience.
Amongst other ASEAN representatives, our director 李国荣 spoke on several key topics, including:-
1. The attractiveness of Singapore as a base of operations for companies looking to tap into the larger ASEAN markets.
2. The reliability, efficiency and neutrality of the Singapore judicial and dispute resolution machinery, which includes the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC).
3. That it is important for foreign investors to focus on the “top-line” instead; i.e. ensuring that the company’s entity form, corporate control and governance structures are carefully considered, retaining talent and institutionalising the right incentive structures that reward responsible commercial decisions.
4. That law firms must realise that it is no longer enough to only think of value adding. With the advent of AI, law firms and lawyers must reposition themselves in the value chain and focus on a “value creation” approach.
ML Chambers’ participation in CEGPS Shanghai 2026 is testament to the firm’s growing international footprint and the firm’s deep specialisation in multi-jurisdictional disputes and transactional matters.
