HK bars Scoot passenger flights due to COVID-19 positive passengers

Two passengers from Singapore tested positive for COVID-19 upon arriving in Hong Kong.

Singapore Airline's budget carrier Scoot has been temporarily prohibited from flying passengers to Hong Kong.

According to the Hong Kong Centre for Health Protection, two COVID-19 positive passengers from Singapore were flown to the administrative region through Scoot on April 11.

One of the two passengers failed to comply with the requirements under Hong Kong's Prevention and Control of Disease(Regulation of Cross-boundary Conveyances and Travellers) Regulation (Cap. 599H).

Scoot is barred from flying in passenger from Singapore to Hong Kong from April 16 to 29.

In an interview with Channel News Asia, Scoot said the two passengers on flight TR980 carried valid negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results.

Flights from Hong Kong to Singapore would not be affected by this suspension.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
