SATS’ simulator to train aviation crews for high-risk scenarios

The facility also recreates cargo handling and aircraft turnaround coordination.

SATS has launched its immersive centre, a training facility equipped with advanced simulation technologies to recreate realistic operating environments for aviation professionals.

The facility supports individual and team-based training through high-fidelity simulations of aircraft turnaround coordination, airside safety procedures, and cargo handling operations, SATS said.

This will enable teams to experience complex, unusual, and potentially high-risk scenarios that can be difficult to reproduce safely in live operations.

The centre is designed to enhance safety, operational readiness, and workforce skills as airport operations become increasingly complex and technology-driven, SATS added.

The facility will also be open to students pursuing aviation careers, helping them develop job-ready skills before entering the industry.

The facility was developed in conjunction with Singapore Polytechnic and with grant support from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, SATS said.

It is part of SATS Singapore Hub’s programme to build safer, smarter, and more resilient aviation operations through workforce redesign and emerging technologies.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
