RTX expands Singapore aerospace capacity with over $139m investment

The new deals will back next-generation aircraft platforms.

RTX said it will invest more than $139m in Singapore under new memoranda of understanding (MoU) signed with the Singapore Economic Development Board, deepening long-term capacity in advanced aerospace manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul, according to a press release.

The agreements, announced at the Singapore Air Show, build on a July 2025 pact and will see RTX businesses Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney expand and introduce new capabilities in Singapore to support next-generation commercial aircraft platforms and rising regional demand.

Collins Aerospace will add new MRO capabilities to reduce turnaround times for Asia-Pacific customers. The scope covers electrical power systems as well as environmental and airframe control systems, with the new capabilities expected to be fully operational by 2030.

The expansion includes support for Boeing’s 777X Integrated Drive Generators and additional flight-critical products for the 787 fleet. These include controllers for engine starters, cabin air compressors, auxiliary power units and new cooling system capabilities, RTX said.

Pratt & Whitney will enhance GTF engine MRO at its Seletar facility by adding a Fan Drive Gear System maintenance line that uses automation and artificial intelligence to improve throughput. The engine maker will also expand coating capabilities at its Tuas operations and increase the site footprint by 25% to support global production demand, according to the press release.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
