SIA in talks with Tata Group over potential integration of Vistara and Air India

The airline holds a 49% stake in Vistara's operator.

Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) is in discussion with Tata Group to integrate the latter's subsidiary, Air India, with Vistara, where both companies have a major stake.

Tata Group has a 51% equity interest in Vistara, whilst SIA holds a 49% stake in the airline's operator, SIA Tata Airlines Limited.

"SIA is currently in confidential discussions with Tata to explore a potential transaction in relation to the securities of Vistara and Air India," the airline said in a bourse filing.

"The discussions are ongoing, and no definitive terms have been agreed upon between the parties. There is no certainty or assurance that any definitive agreement will be entered into or the potential transaction will materialize or proceed to completion arising from these discussions," SIA added.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
