ST Engineering, SF Airlines launch $19m aerospace JV in China

The joint venture will provide an MRO facility in Hubei's Ezhou Huahu Airport.

ST Engineering's Commercial Aerospace sector has entered an RMB100m ($19m) joint venture company with SF Airlines in Ezhou, Hubei, China.

ST Engineering will have a 60% stake in the joint venture, and the remaining 40% will be held by the latter.

The joint venture will operate a greenfield airframe maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at the Ezhou Huahu Airport to provide MRO services to cargo and passenger airlines operating in Asia. The facility's first hangar will be ready to use in 2025.

Jeffrey Lam, ST Engineering president of commercial aerospace, said that the joint venture's presence in the Chinese province would "enhance our MRO network in Asia to meet and capture the rising regional demand, while our strategic collaboration with an airline partner will enable us to start up a greenfield operation quickly."

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
