Centurion sets up financing framework for green, social projects
It covers 10 categories, such as renewable energy and clean transportation.
Centurion Corporation has established a sustainability financing framework to finance or refinance green and social projects across its accommodation portfolio.
It covers 10 eligible categories, including green buildings, renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean transportation, climate change adaptation, affordable housing, and access to essential services.
DBS Bank will act as the framework’s sole sustainability adviser.
The group said projects will be identified by its sustainability working groups, whilst its sustainability steering committee will review and approve them.
The approved list will be reviewed annually, with proceeds reallocated if a project no longer meets the eligibility criteria.
The move comes as Centurion targets a 15% reduction in electricity consumption intensity by FY2030 from a FY2022 baseline, whilst its longer-term ambition is to reach net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The group managed 43 operational accommodation assets with a total of 85,528 beds as of 30 June.
