Personal disposable income rises 6.9% YoY in Q2

The increase was driven by higher employee compensation.

Personal disposable income (PDI) rose 6.9% year-on-year (YoY) in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, accelerating from 5.4% growth in the first quarter, according to the Department of Statistics.

The increase was driven by higher employee compensation.

Personal savings grew 9.6% YoY in Q2 2026, compared with 6.6% growth in the previous quarter, as nominal PDI increased faster than nominal personal consumption expenditure.

Despite the rise in savings, the personal saving rate fell to 32.3% in Q2 2026 from 39.1% in Q1.

The rate measures personal savings as a share of personal disposable income.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
