SATS Thailand secures full ownership of SFST with final 15% stake buy

The remaining 15% stake was acquired for $3.4m.

SATS Thailand has completed the full acquisition of SATS Food Solutions Thailand (SFST) by acquiring the remaining 15% stake from Bangkok Ranch.

SATS Thailand bought the remaining stake for $3.4m (THB 85.5m), following its initial 85% investment in June 2021.

SFST is currently developing a facility in Pathum Thani, which will span approximately 35,000 square metres across three main buildings, to be completed by Q4 2024. Upon completion, the facility will increase SFST’s production capacity to 108,000 meals per day.

The acquisition will also strengthen SATS and Mitsui’s partnership with Mitsui’s planned 15% stake in SFST, combining SATS’ production with Mitsui’s distribution to drive growth.

“This milestone with SFST gives us the agility to fully capitalise on our expanded operational scale and drive our partnership with Mitsui. Our strengthened position in Thailand’s food ecosystem will enhance our ability to capture growing demand across Asia’s food services market,” Stanley Goh, CEO of Food Solutions at SATS said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
