Gov't launches AI-powered BizSG initiative to streamline SME support
It will also utilise agentic tech to tailor personalised recommendations.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry and Enterprise Singapore have announced the BizSG initiative to simplify how businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), access government support and services.
The initiative will use artificial intelligence (AI) and agentic technologies to tailor recommendations based on a company’s needs, profile and growth plans.
It will also provide guided navigation across government services and is intended to simplify transactions such as licence applications and business filings.
“Our goal is for BizSG to become a trusted digital concierge for SMEs, freeing more time and energy for them to focus on business growth,” said Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Community, Culture and Youth, Low Yen Ling.
Low launched the initiative at the SME Centre Conference 2026.
A new BizSG portal will go live on 30 September with an initial focus on grants and internationalisation resources.
It includes an AI-powered recommender that suggests relevant grants based on a company’s profile and business plans, which users can describe in natural language.
Firms eyeing overseas expansion will also be able to access trade data, tariff information, and in-market contacts through the platform.
Companies can use the recommender to explore selected grants, including EDGE, which was announced under the Business Refresh Package earlier this year.
The portal was developed in consultation with trade associations, SME Centre advisers, and nearly 200 companies.
Close to 700 businesses have used its beta version since October 2025.
