Let's get physical: Only 1 in 3 Singaporeans get regular exercise

But they still feel they're in tip-top shape.

According to a survey by Royal Philips Electronics, Singaporeans feel that they are in good physical health – eat well, but do not exercise regularly enough. 66% of Singaporeans feel that they have good physical health, with 49% of the respondents having nutritious meals a few times a week or more.

Amongst those who are very or completely satisfied with their eating habits, 85% have nutritious meals a few times a week or more.

Here's more from Royal Philips Electronics:

However, only 34% of the respondents exercise at least once a week or more. Interestingly, respondents in the older age group of 45-80 years of age (39.5%) are exercising more frequently than those within the 25-34 age group (35%).

The level of satisfaction with eating habits is determined by how regularly respondents have nutritious meals. But the survey data highlights Singaporeans are not exercising regularly or frequently enough. An area of improvement in 2013 is to combine healthy eating with more regular and frequent exercises to improve Singaporeans' physical health.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
