YTL PowerSeraya names Lim Han Kwang as CEO

He will oversee the group's three subsidiaries.

YTL PowerSeraya has appointed Lim Han Kwang as its new CEO, effective 1 January 2027.

Lim will succeed John Ng, who has held the post since 2019 and will remain on the group's board as a director.

He will oversee the group’s three subsidiaries: electricity retailer Geneco, tank management company PetroSeraya, and power generation company Taser Power.

Lim brings over 23 years of commercial and regulatory experience across electricity and gas markets, including previous roles at the Energy Market Authority, Singapore Power, and Sembcorp Industries.

He rejoined YTL PowerSeraya in 2020 as group head of strategy and risk management before being appointed CEO of Geneco in 2022.

In 2024, he was promoted to deputy CEO whilst retaining his position at Geneco, marking the start of the group's planned succession process.

Outside of YTL PowerSeraya, he also serves as a board member of the Energy Studies Institute.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
