SCS unveils AI skills pathway for specialist, non-tech roles

Two tracks cover five entry-level jobs and training for business users.

The Singapore Computer Society (SCS) has launched a skills pathway for artificial intelligence (AI), covering non-technical professionals and specialist AI roles.

It is divided into two tracks — the AI Bilingual Pathway and the AI Technical Specialist Pathway.

The first track covers baseline knowledge, practical application and governance, aimed at non-tech practitioners, domain professionals, and business users. Participants are recommended to complete at least one course or certification in each of the three areas.

Meanwhile, the AI Technical Specialist Pathway targets aspiring AI professionals through employer-recognised certifications, portfolio development, and technical assessment guidance.

It covers five entry-level roles —  AI Platform Engineer, AI Application Engineer, AI Solutions Architect, AI Product Manager, and AI Ethics & Compliance Officer.

The AI programme is the third Skills Pathway developed by SCS as a Skills Development Partner, following its cybersecurity pathway in 2024 and cloud pathway in 2025.

The initiative is supported by the Skills & Workforce Development Agency, Infocomm Media Development Authority, AI Singapore, the Singapore Medical Association, Institution of Engineers Singapore, Singapore Logistics Association, and 15 founding employers.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
