KKR-Singtel consortium completes acquisition of STTGDC

The data centre operator will retain its leadership and strategy following the deal.

A KKR-led consortium comprising funds managed by KKR and Singtel has completed its acquisition of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STTGDC), as the data centre operator reported continued expansion in its operating and contracted capacity.

Following the transaction, STTGDC will retain its existing leadership and strategy. The investment will provide the company with additional capital and financial flexibility for expansion, it said.

The company’s growth strategy will focus on markets where power availability, infrastructure readiness, customer requirements, and policy conditions support further development.

The operator also unveiled a refreshed global brand following the transaction, retaining its existing name and introducing the “Built Ready” positioning.

DBS, OCBC, and UOB are amongst the lenders backing a $5b sustainability-linked loan for KKR and Singtel’s acquisition.

STTGDC said its operational capacity increased 25% from the end of 2025 to 780 megawatts (MW) by June.

Contracted capacity rose 50% over the same period, whilst annualised earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation increased 30%.

It attributed the growth to demand from hyperscalers, cloud service providers, artificial intelligence customers, and enterprises across its markets.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
