Singapore, Dutch semiconductor groups sign pact to expand market access

The deal clears a path for Singapore firms to open operations inside the Netherlands.

The Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) and the Netherlands' Brabant Development Agency (BOM) have formalised cooperation to open new market opportunities across their semiconductor ecosystems.

Through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), both organisations will focus on Dutch advanced manufacturing companies and suppliers in Singapore.

The agreement also covers support for Singapore companies looking to establish operations in the Netherlands.

They will support companies and knowledge institutions in both countries in exploring partnerships in business, technology, innovation, and supply chains.

Key areas include identifying company needs and matching businesses with potential partners, followed by technical assessments and supplier qualification.

The move comes as Dutch high-tech companies seek more resilient supply chains and stronger customer connections across Asia, said Daan de Cloe, Managing Director, Foreign Investment and International Trade, BOM.

SSIA and BOM will also look at partnerships and exchanges involving universities, innovation centres, and industry for developing technologies to address global and societal challenges.

The MoU was signed at the SSIA Summit 2026.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
