Tech funding sinks 81.36% in August as high fades

Sharpa raised $669.7m as dealmaking cooled.

Tech companies raised about $864m in equity funding in August 2026, sinking 81.36% from $4.63b in July, according to Tracxn.

Despite the monthly decline, the figure also represented a 693.8% surge from $109m in August 2025.

The 12-month data showed relatively slow funding activity, with only three months breaching a billion in equity raised.

September 2025 recorded $448m in tech funding before dropping to $346m in October and $284m in November.

Funding nearly doubled in December to $521m before inflating to $2.26b in January 2026.

It then remained flat between February and March, sinking to $360m and $372m, respectively.

April recorded the lowest funding activity across the 12 months at only $58.8m.

It rose again in May to $181m, ballooned in June to about $3.75b, and continued climbing into July before pulling back in August.

Sharpa topped August's largest funding rounds with a $669.7m raise, followed by Acrab AI ($130m), Multiplier ($35m), Graas ($17m), and 4Divinity ($9m).

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
