EnterpriseSG opens Boston office to boost SG-US business ties
Centre will support Singapore firms expanding in the US.
Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) has opened its Boston Overseas Centre to help Singapore companies expand in the US through the East Coast.
The Boston office is EnterpriseSG’s fifth in the US, following the opening of its Austin Overseas Centre in April. It complements the agency’s existing centre in New York by giving Singapore businesses greater access to regional markets, innovation ecosystems and business networks.
The centre will provide market insights, project opportunities and connections to corporates, investors, and innovation networks. It is located in Greater Boston, a major hub for research, technology, and business.
The opening coincides with EnterpriseSG’s first state-level partnership in the US, signed with the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (MOITI). The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration between Singapore and Massachusetts businesses, investors and institutions in areas including life sciences, energy, advanced manufacturing, robotics, and AI.
“The US remains an important market for Singapore companies, with growing interest from Singapore businesses in recent years,” said EnterpriseSG Managing Director Cindy Khoo. “Our presence in Boston will deepen connections between our business and tech communities, spark new partnerships, accelerate innovation and bring new solutions to markets in the US and beyond.”
Singapore and Massachusetts have seen trade ties grow in recent years. Goods trade between the two more than doubled from 2021 to 2025, reaching $3.47b (US$2.75b) in 2025.
Massachusetts is home to major universities including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University, as well as research institutions, hospitals, and corporate R&D operations.
Singapore companies including MAK Technologies, Cirrus Therapeutics, and Roceso Technologies have established operations or partnerships in the state.
MAK Technologies, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, develops modelling and simulation software for the US aerospace and defence industries. Cirrus Therapeutics operates across Singapore and Boston to develop gene therapies, whilst Roceso Technologies is using Massachusetts’ robotics ecosystem to expand its rehabilitation robotics business in the US.
The Boston centre opens as Singapore and the US mark 60 years of bilateral relations. Bilateral trade reached $139.2b in 2025.
Over 250 Singapore companies have established a presence across 45 US states, making the US one of the top five overseas markets for Singapore businesses.
