About $33.2b set to flow into SG’s living sector

It ranked as the third most-preferred investment destination in APAC.

Singapore ranked third amongst Asia Pacific's preferred Living investment destinations, with investors set to deploy an estimated $33.2b into the sector over the next five years, according to a Cushman & Wakefield survey.

It was driven largely by domestic investors as 85% plan to increase Living investment over the period, with none expecting to cut allocations.

Across APAC, co-living ranked as the second most targeted Living segment, ahead of purpose-built student accommodation.

“This is a trend the survey ties directly to Singapore's affordability pressures and demand for flexible rental housing,” the report said.

Accordingly, 3% of respondents said they are actively considering repositioning or change-of-use strategies, with office and hotel conversions gaining traction as a route to new Living stock.

More than half of respondents also indicated a preference for managing Living portfolios through local specialist partners.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
