Jardine unit lifts JC&C stake to 87% with 150,000-share purchase

JSS paid $27.0107 per share on 17 September, lifting its direct holding to 87.023%.

Jardine Strategic Singapore Pte Ltd (JSS), a unit of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited, has increased its stake in Jardine Cycle & Carriage Limited (JC&C) by buying 150,000 shares at $27.0107 per share on 17 September.

The acquisition, done via market transaction, lifted JSS’s direct holding to 343,948,537 shares, or 87.023%, up from 86.986%, a regulatory filing showed.

The same increase was also disclosed as a deemed interest by four related entities: JSH Asian Holdings Limited, which directly holds JSS; Jardine Strategic Limited; JMH Investments Limited; and Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited, the ultimate parent company.

All five entities filed notice of the change and classified it as a change in percentage interest whilst remaining a substantial shareholder, rather than a new or exiting position.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
