Can I review my Deed Poll before signing it at your office? #

Yes. At Loh Eben Ong LLP, we will prepare your Deed Poll in advance based on the information you submit online. A draft Deed Poll will be provided for your review on your appointment date before the signing.

We encourage all clients to:

  • Carefully check the spelling of names (especially for Chinese characters, if applicable);
  • Ensure that the new name is correct and matches all relevant documents;
  • Notify us immediately if any amendments are required before the Deed Poll is executed.

When and how will I receive the draft Deed Poll? #

  • For standard cases, the draft is usually prepared before your in-office appointment.
  • In some cases, you may be given a chance to review it on-site prior to signing.
  • If clarification or supporting documents are needed, we may contact you before the appointment to confirm certain details.

Can I request changes to the draft before signing? #

Yes. If you notice any errors or wish to make changes (e.g. revise spelling, adjust Chinese characters), please inform us before signing the Deed Poll.

Once the Deed Poll is signed and witnessed, no further changes can be made. A new Deed Poll will be required if amendments are needed after signing.

What happens if I provide incorrect information during submission and Deed Poll is signed? #

If incorrect or incomplete information is submitted:

  • We may need to reschedule your appointment;
  • Additional fees may apply for re-preparing documents after completion of your Deed Poll;
  • It could delay the signing and subsequent use of the Deed Poll for updating your records.
