This guide explains how our fees work, how to engage us, and why you may prefer a law firm over a non-legal will-writing firm.
How do I get a fee estimate? #
To receive an estimated quote for our will drafting services, please use our Wills Quote form at law.com.sg/singapore-wills-quote/. Alternatively, you may choose to proceed by submitting your instructions directly via our Wills Online form at law.com.sg/singapore-wills-online/.
After we review your submission, we will assess the information provided and contact you with an estimated fee. The final fee may vary depending on:
- The number and nature of your assets and beneficiaries
- Any requests for amendments or clarifications
- Instructions or changes provided on the day of signing
All fees quoted are strictly estimates only and subject to change based on the actual instructions received, document complexity, extent of revisions and time required. Additional charges may apply for urgent matters, multiple amendments, extended discussions or special provisions.
How do I engage your services? #
- Submit your will application. Complete our online form at law.com.sg/singapore-wills-online/ with your personal details and instructions.
- Book an appointment. Once your submission is received, you may book an appointment for consultation at book.law.com.sg/wills-consult/ or for signing at book.law.com.sg/wills/.
- Our office may contact you for clarification before or after your appointment.

Who should I engage to prepare my will: lawyers or non-legal firms? #
This is a question of preference, and usually a person may be influenced by the apparently lower costs offered by non-legal firms providing will drafting services.
In fact, the cost of a will drafted by a professional law firm for a relatively straightforward will is usually modest, and the law firm will usually have one or two lawyers witnessing the testator’s signature to the will. Such solicitor witnesses may be useful in the event of issues relating to the testator’s signature or where there are disputes surrounding the will.
Upon the death of the testator, the personal representative(s) of the testator may appoint a law firm to act in the administration of the estate, and that law firm will usually advise the personal representative(s) to advertise in the Law Society Gazette (circulated to practising solicitors only) for any will previously prepared by other law firm(s) for the testator, so that the firm holding the will can come forward.
I am overseas. Can I engage you to draft my will to be signed outside Singapore? #
If you are overseas, you may engage our will drafting services, but you must sign the will in the presence of one of our lawyers in Singapore.
As a matter of policy, we do not assist clients in preparing wills for signing overseas. Our lawyer needs to meet the testator to explain the will’s contents and to confirm testamentary capacity and understanding of its terms.
