Our fee bands for making a will in Singapore
We publish our fee bands so that you know what to expect before you contact us. The Singapore wills quote below reflects the same bands the calculator uses.

What the bands include, and what they exclude
Each band covers taking your instructions, drafting your will, explaining it to you, and signing it in our office before two witnesses.
The bands exclude the Singapore Academy of Law Wills Registry fee and our administration fee for registering your will. They also exclude a surcharge where we take your instructions in Mandarin or Hokkien, attendance outside our office such as at your home or a hospital (subject to availability), translation or interpretation by a third party, and disbursements such as title searches on your property or an ACRA business profile search.
If you would rather talk something through before you commit to anything, you can book a wills consultation instead. We charge for the lawyer’s time in 15 minute blocks, or part thereof, and the current rate is shown when you book a Wills Consultation.
Why we quote a band rather than one figure
Complexity often becomes clearer once we take your full instructions. A will that begins as a simple gift to a spouse may grow to include specific gifts, a guardian, or a trust for a young child. For that reason the figures above are estimates rather than fixed quotes, and we confirm your fee in writing before we begin drafting. If your instructions expand at the signing appointment, we may charge you more due to the expanded instructions not aniticipated at the time of appointment.
What the Singapore wills quote includes
Your estimate covers our professional fee for taking your instructions, drafting your will, and witnessing the signing at our office. Before any work begins, we will provide an estimated fee based on your instructions received at the point of engagement.
Some items sit outside the drafting fee. For example, the Singapore Academy of Law charges its own fee to record a will in the Wills Registry (which is voluntary), and we charge a separate admin fee if you ask us to lodge that record for you. A mirror will for your spouse and a Lasting Power of Attorney are also priced separately. Finally, if instructions are taken in Mandarin or Hokkien, a small surcharge applies.
What affects the cost of making a will in Singapore
Two people of the same age rarely pay the same fee, because complexity drives the work. These factors matter most:
- Your family structure. A single testator with one beneficiary needs far less drafting than a blended family.
- Number of beneficiaries, and their shares. Unequal shares take more care than equal shares.
- Minor beneficiaries. Gifts to children under 21 usually need trust provisions and two executors.
- Specific gifts. Naming a property, a vehicle or company shares adds drafting work.
- Overseas assets. Worldwide coverage needs more thought than a Singapore-only will.
- Language and capacity. Interpretation, or a doctor’s certificate for a senior testator, adds time.
What the quote does not cover
Your will deals with your estate after death, so a few things fall outside it. Probate, for instance, is a separate matter that your executor handles later. Your CPF savings pass by CPF nomination rather than by your will. We also do not prepare Muslim wills, because Muslim estates in Singapore follow the Administration of Muslim Law Act 1966 and the rules of faraid. Mutual or joint wills are not part of our service either, save for exceptional circumstances.
From quote to signed will in four steps

- Then submit your instructions through our wills online form.
- Next, we review your instructions and prepare the draft. Please allow at least three working days.
- Finally, book Wills Signing on our booking site and sign at our office. Two witnesses must be present, because the Wills Act 1838 sets strict formalities.

Who cannot use the Singapore wills quote calculator
The calculator stops short in three situations. Testators aged 76 and above should call us instead, so we can assess the position properly. Muslim clients should seek a lawyer who practises Muslim law. Finally, a person who has already lost mental capacity cannot make a will at all, and the family may need to consider a deputyship application to the Court.

Is the quote binding?
It is an estimate based on what you tell us. Once we see your full instructions, we confirm the estimated fee in writing before we start, but reserve our right to charge additional where the subsequent instructions expanded or add complexity.
Do I pay anything to get a quote?
No. The quote is free, and it does not engage the firm. We reserve the right to reject engagement.
Can my spouse have a mirror will?
Yes. Mirror wills suit couples with similar wishes, and your spouse does not need to fill in the instructions again. We price the second will separately.
What if I am 76 or older?
Please call us rather than using the calculator. We may speak to you by phone or video call first, and we may ask for a doctor’s certificate of testamentary capacity.
How much of my will can I change later?
You can change any part of it, by undating via a codicil, or a fresh will.
How soon can I sign my will?
Allow at least three working days after you submit your instructions, then book a signing appointment at our office. A longer period may be required if the instructions are more complex, and/or our lawyers are busy.
