What makes up your witnessing fees?

For one person signing one document, the calculator estimate is S$202.20, before exhibits and optional services. This comprises S$40 for witnessing, S$75 for the Notarial Certificate and S$87.20 for the SAL Apostille.

These examples cover ordinary signing by individuals. Please send company documents, unusual signing requirements or requests involving different signing capacities for review.

One document at a time

Witnessing cannot be bundled. Each witnessed document, including each separately signed duplicate, requires its own Notarial Certificate and Apostille.

Two people signing the same document have an estimated total of S$222.20, before exhibits and optional services. The witnessing element is S$60, not S$80.

For several documents, calculate each separately. Confirm shared outcall, collection or delivery charges with us so that a single trip is not counted twice.

Your office visit is not the final step

After notarisation, you or your representative must make a separate visit to SAL to collect the hardcopy Apostille.

Our office completes notarisation and issues the Notarial Certificate. Take the certificate and attached documents with you.

Collect the Apostille from SAL

Bring the Notarial Certificate and attached documents to SAL. You may attend yourself or arrange for a representative.

Paying the SAL fee through our office does not include collection by our firm. If you need us to collect, arrange this in advance. An additional service fee applies; courier delivery is separate.

An e-Apostille is available only by prior arrangement, subject to suitability and acceptance by your overseas recipient. Read about the electronic option and its limitations.

Before your witnessing appointment

Bring the complete, unsigned document, all exhibits or attachments, your original NRIC or passport, and the receiving party’s signing instructions. Every person whose signature is to be witnessed must attend. Tell us beforehand about any difference between the name in the document and the identity document.

The document should be prepared and checked before your appointment. Where an oath or affirmation is required, our Notary Public will administer it as part of the attendance. Drafting, legal advice and translations are not included in this calculator. Tell us in advance if you need an interpreter.

Do not sign before the appointment. Our Notary Public cannot retrospectively witness a signature. Send the document for review; you may need a fresh copy to sign in our presence. Certification of a pre-signed original is a different service and may require separate verification.

Outcall attendance is available by prior arrangement, subject to availability and confirmation of the address, access and appointment arrangements. The calculator shows estimated attendance fees separately from notarial and Apostille fees.

Our default is the hardcopy process, which involves a separate visit to SAL by you or your representative. An electronic option requires prior arrangement and acceptance by the overseas recipient. It does not remove the need for personal attendance for witnessing. Read about e-notarisation and e-Apostille limitations.

Check which service you need

Ask the receiving party which officer must witness or certify the document. A local document may require a lawyer or Commissioner for Oaths rather than notarisation.

If you only need an Apostille for an eligible Singapore government document, a direct application to SAL may avoid notarial fees. Check that the recipient accepts this route.
