Wills Registry records that you have a will and where the original is kept. Registration is optional. You can register it yourself, or engage us for an administrative fee of S$100, plus SAL's applicable fee. SAL's published fee for an ordinary will-record deposit is S$50.

Wills Repository stores a digital copy of your signed will through a participating law firm. You nominate who may access it after your death. It does not replace the original or establish the will's validity. Our fee is S$100, plus SAL's fee, if any.

SAL currently offers registration with digital-copy deposit through participating law firms at no charge until 31 March 2027. Our service fee remains payable.

Does the Singapore wills online form create a valid will?

No. It sends your instructions to our firm for review. We prepare a draft after accepting the matter. You then approve and sign the paper will with the required witnesses. Submitting the form does not by itself engage our firm.

How much will drafting cost?

The fee depends on your instructions and complexity. Use our Singapore wills quote for an indicative range. All quotations are estimates. The final fee depends on your final instructions, complexity and any further updates made at our office.

Where do I sign, and who witnesses my will?

We only handle wills where the testator attends our Singapore office for our lawyer to explain the contents in person and oversee signing. Under the Wills Act 1838, your signature must be made or acknowledged before at least two witnesses present at the same time. They must sign in your presence. We will explain the arrangements before your appointment.

Can I instruct you while I am overseas?

Yes. You may send instructions through our Singapore wills online form while overseas, but you must then attend before our lawyer at our office in Singapore. We do not draft, prepare or witness wills intended to be signed outside Singapore.

Can my spouse request a mirror will?

Yes. Select the Mirror Will option if your spouse or partner wants a separate will with similar wishes. We can use the details already supplied, subject to each person confirming their own instructions. A separate fee applies.

What if I already have a will covering overseas assets?

Tell us about every existing will and the assets it covers. Our lawyers need to consider the intended scope and any revocation clauses. Foreign assets may also require advice in the country concerned.

Can I request SAL Wills Registry or Repository services?

Yes. The form has separate options for recording will information and depositing a digital copy through the SAL Wills Repository. Our service fees and any applicable SAL charges are additional. Keep the signed original safely. Read our guide to storing and reviewing your will.

Can I arrange an LPA at the same time?

You may indicate your interest in the optional LPA section. An LPA is a separate document and service, with its own process and fees. See our Lasting Power of Attorney guide for details.
