Contributors to Chambers and Partners’ Chambers Global Practice Guide: Shareholders’ Rights & Shareholder Activism 2025

Our directors, Mr Mark Lee and Ms Sarah Yeo, contributed to Chambers and Partners’ Chambers Global Practice Guide: Shareholders’ Rights & Shareholder Activism 2025.

The Chambers Global Practice Guide features subject matter specialists across close to 20 jurisdictions and is regarded as the “Definitive global law guides offering comparative analysis from top-ranked lawyers”. In this latest edition of the 2025 guide, our directors are privileged to be the only contributors from Singapore.

Our, Mr Mark Lee and Ms Sarah Yeo, authored the Trends and Development section for the Singapore jurisdiction. The section covered the threshold question of when a shareholder is even deemed as one (i.e. focusing on the issue of beneficial interests), the confluence and inter-operability of a company’s constitution and shareholders’ agreement, and an examination of the various “rights” of a shareholder (including the power to vote qua shareholder, possible reserve management powers, ability to bring oppression claims (section 216), derivative actions (section 216A), etc).
