Operated by GBA Ships, this seafaring marvel is a beacon of knowledge and hope, docking at ports around the globe to spread education and goodwill.
Imagine this: you’re sipping a coffee, munching on a snack, and diving into a good book—all while gently rocking on the waves. It’s like your favourite bookstore got a serious upgrade and decided to take a world tour!
But don’t let the tranquility fool you—there’s a bustling hive of activity onboard. The purpose of the Doulos Hope, whose name means “Servant of Hope” derived from Greek language, is to foster cross-cultural understanding and provide humanitarian aid. An international team of volunteers organises cultural events, educational programs, and projects to support underserved communities. They’re like a bunch of superheroes, but with more books and fewer capes.
And now, the Doulos Hope is making a splash at Singapore’s VivoCity for a few days only, with its last day on the 28th of July 2024. Best of all, entry is free!
