Great Eastern Women’s Run 2025 Launches New Tertiary Student Category
The Great Eastern Women’s Run (GEWR) 2025, Singapore’s only all-women race, officially opened for registration on 26 May. This 19th edition, held at Asia Square Tower 1, introduced a new 10km team category exclusively for tertiary students, encouraging young female athletes to shine through sport. Student representatives from local institutions can form teams of four, provided they remain enrolled through race day on 9 November 2025 at the Singapore Sports Hub.
Minister of State for Education and Digital Development, Jasmin Lau, joined representatives from Great Eastern and partner charities to raise $20,000 in under five minutes during the launch. Proceeds will go to Daughters Of Tomorrow and the Singapore Cancer Society.
Returning categories include the 21.1km half marathon, 10km and 5km public runs, the 2km ‘Mummy and Me’, and the 100m ‘Princess Dash’—featuring popular Sanrio character Cinnamoroll. GEWR also reintroduces personalised bib bidding to boost fundraising.
CEO Greg Hingston reaffirmed the run’s role in promoting sisterhood, fitness, and social impact, celebrating last year’s $388,000 record. Early registrants received goodie bags and free race slots as part of Great Eastern’s 117th anniversary celebrations.
