Olam International to issue $100m perpetual securities

Thise will be consolidated with its existing $250m securities, issued under the same programme.

Olam International Limited has announced its plans to issue $100m subordinated perpetual securities, which will be consolidated with its existing $250m perpetual securities, issued last January.

The issue price is set at 100.01 per cent of the aggregate principal amount, in addition to the accrued interest from 18 January 2021 to the issue date.

Its distribution rate is 5.375% annually until 18 July 2026.

This forms part of the company’s US$5b euro medium term note programme.

Net proceeds, according to the company, will be used for debt refinancing amongst other purposes, outlined in its 5 May offering circular.

This also includes financing capital expenditure and potential acquisition opportunities.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
