Wee Hur secures lease extension for 15,744-bed Tuas View Dormitory

The lease extension will run from 1 November 2026 to 30 June 2029.

Property and construction group Wee Hur Holdings Ltd has secured a two-year, eight-month extension of the land lease for the 15,744-bed Tuas View Dormitory.

JTC Corporation granted the extended lease, which will be valid from 1 November 2026 to 30 June 2029.

Located at 70 Tuas South Avenue 1, the dormitory is one of the largest purpose-built dormitories in Singapore, recording an average occupancy of 92% in the first half (H1) of 2026.

It began operations in 2014 and is held through a joint venture in which Wee Hur has an effective 60% interest.

The dormitory already meets the interim standards under the dormitory transition scheme, which all dormitories are required to meet by 2030, according to Wee Hur.

Wee Hur recorded a 50.7% year-on-year increase in revenue from its workers’ dormitory business in H1.

The growth was supported by the first full half-year contribution from its 10,500-bed Pioneer Lodge dormitory at Soon Lee Road, where occupancy averaged 66%.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
