Trade Minister attending Kuala Lumpur dialogue on business and economy

Singapore's Minister for Trade and Industry, Lim Hng Kiang, will attend a private sector dialogue in Kuala Lumpur.

He will meet with Asean economic ministers and Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Banri Kaieda.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry said the dialogue, from July 8-9, 2011, would bring together policy-makers and private sector representatives to address issues related to Asean-Japan business and economic relations.

Others in attendance include representatives of the Federation of Japanese Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Asean, Nippon Keidanren, Japan External Trade Organisation and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The dialogue will also include a ministerial-level discussion between the AEMs and Kaieda to explore ways to enhance economic cooperation between Asean and Japan in particular, in the automotive, electronic and electrical, and agro-industry sectors.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
