Electricity tariffs cut 10.4% in Q4

Average monthly bills in 4-bedroom flats may drop by $12.99.

Households will now pay 10.4% less for electricity from October to December, with the tariff falling to $0.2859 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) from $0.3191.

Families in four-room Housing Development flats will see average monthly bills drop by $12.99 before Goods and Services Tax.

The overall tariff, including non-households, falls an average of 10.6%, or $0.0332 per kWh. City Energy cut the household town gas tariff by 8.6%, to $0.2145 per kWh.

According to SP Group, tariffs follow gas prices in the first 2.5 months of the preceding quarter, so the mid-September oil price rise on Middle East tensions has yet to feed through.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.

Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.

We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.

If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
